After the Charleston the Game Must Continue (Article ID 120)

< All Topics

Abstract: Once the mandatory first and second Charleston moves have been completed the game must be played even if a player dislikes the tiles they have. Throwing one’s tiles in to request a do-over is not allowed.  This ruling is not found in Mah Jongg Made Easy.

Question from a player:  If one or more players’ don’t like their hand after the Charleston is over, can we throw in the tiles and start the game over?

Answer from the NMJL:  “No game is ever thrown in and played over.”
